Guest Talk: Keynote and Masterclass by Tom Verguts (Ghent University)

Date: 12/13-09-2024

We welcomed Prof. Tom Verguts, an expert in computational modeling and cognitive control from Ghent University, for a visit to the DCCN, where he presented his latest research on computational modeling in experimental psychology.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to arrange one-on-one meetings with Prof. Verguts to discuss research collaborations and insights into computational approaches.

Computational Modeling Workshop (September 12, 2024)

Title: A Bird’s Eye View on Models of Biological and Artificial Learning Abstract: Artificial Intelligence is rapidly advancing, but its origins are deeply rooted in psychology and cognitive neuroscience. This workshop provided an overview of the development of computational models in these fields, highlighting key applications and insights from past and current research. No prior knowledge was required.

Master Class for Early Career Researchers (September 13, 2024)

![ref1]This master class provided an opportunity for PhD students, postdocs, and master's students to pitch their research and receive feedback from Prof. Verguts. The session fostered discussions on computational modeling approaches and provided valuable insights for researchers at all career stages.
